Constitutional law, which is one of the basic branch courses of Public Law, is traditionally a branch of law that examines the form of the state, its main institutions, the establishment and functioning of the basic organs of the state such as the legislative, executive and judiciary, the mutual relations between these organs and the fundamental rights and freedoms provided to individuals. Since it analyses the highest legal norms regulating the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, an important aspect of Constitutional Law is that it is related to the law of freedoms.
In Constitutional Law courses, it is aimed to teach two main aspects, namely the basic organs of the state and the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens. In this context, the basic organs of the state are examined, and the establishment and functioning of these organs, which consist of the legislative, executive and judiciary, and the mutual relations between these organs are examined. In this aspect of constitutional law, the functioning of the state is analysed. It is also aimed to provide students with the fundamental rights and freedoms aspect of constitutional law by examining the recognition and protection of the ability to act freely, in other words, personal freedoms, by the legal order.
Within the Department of Constitutional Law, courses such as Current Problems of Constitutional Law, Current Problems of Turkish Constitutional Jurisdiction, Comparative Government Systems can be given at the graduate level as well as Constitutional Law courses at the undergraduate level.
