As a sub-branch of international law, the Department of Public International Law aims to study the legal system governing international and public relations between states, intergovernmental and non-governmental international organisations and individuals. Within the Department of Public International Law, which is divided into specific sub-branches such as international maritime law, international criminal law, European Union law, a wide range of courses are offered at undergraduate and graduate levels:

 

Public Law of States I and II, International Organisations, Transboundary Waters Law, European Union Law are taught at undergraduate level.

 

At the graduate level, courses such as Use of Force and Humanitarian Intervention in International Law, The Changing Concept of Sovereignty in International Law, European Union Law and Turkey, International Criminal Court, International Law and Terrorism, Globalisation and Law can be offered.
